We love the Alleyppey top with its flared sleeves, straight cut and bare shoulders ... A look full of femininity and elegant! The cut is deliberately close to the armpits with an elastic band that goes around the shoulders so that the top does not rise constantly above the shoulders! No need to reposition your top with bare shoulders with each movement!

The fabric

100% cotton, Ikat

‘Ikat’ is derived from a Malay-Indonesian word “mengikat’, meaning ‘to bind’, referring to the distinctive technique of creating this traditional art form. A complex, skill-intensive process of marking, tying and dyeing the design into the yarn. This process is repeated multiple times to produce elaborate, multicolored patterns. When the dyeing is finished all the bindings are removed and the yarns are woven into cloth. The weaving process then reveals the rich and intricate patterns in the resulting fabric.

The fabric produced has an intentional bleed with a blurry or fuzzy appearance. This characteristic blurriness is prized by textile collectors, owing to the tedious and painstaking process of weaving them.
